Heralock, #522A, The Fighting Larva
Typing: Bug
Height: 1'1"
Weight: 29.2 lbs.
Length: 2'5"
Width: 11"
Egg Group: Bug
Diet: Heralock are herbivores. Despite this, they tend to be herbivores of the more carnivorous type, hunting down Oddish and Bellsprout to feed on.
Characteristics: Heralock barely resemble they're humanoid evolution. As a baby, they are a small larva-like Pokemon covered in a thick blue shell. Despite this, they maintain many key abilities of a Heracross. They still have a horn, useful for a multitude of attacks. In addition, despite having no arm-like appendages, they are still possessed of a strength many times that of their size. They use this in the wild to smash through logs in pursuit of their Grass-Typed prey. Their thick blue shell allows them to become harder to see in shadows as well as providing a solid defense against all attacks. In this early stage Heralock aren't possessed of any form of flight, although as they near evolution very small wings begin to emerge.
Behavior: Heralock, while an herbivore, are far from a pacifist. Heracross are a warlike Pokemon by nature, forming their loose swarms to attack. The younger form is much like this; Heralock travel in swarms in their hunt for greater foodstuffs. They commonly devour Pokemon such as Oddish. They provide adequate foodstuff as well as appealing to their warlike nature. Heralock are highly territorial; if they find a profitable area, such as a grove of fruit trees, they establish it as theirs, crushing all comers into the area. Despite their warlike nature, they are honorable in combat. They will not resort to toxins, ambushes, or other such underhand tactics, instead fighting their foes head on. They never give up, fighitng long past the end of the battle. As a trainers Pokemon they possess much of this instinct; as long as their trainer treats them with the respect they deserve, give them plenty of combat, and does not act like a coward, a Heralock will at least be able to tolerate them.
Habitat: Heralock can be most commonly found in tropical forests due to the wide variety of food and large trees. They are rare in more temperate forests, although they are not completely unknown.
Population: Heralock are rarely seen on their own, mostly commonly living in massive colonies that can reach upwards of one hundred Heralock and Heracross.
Relation with other Pokemon: Heralock hunt weak Grass Types, using them as food. In addition, any Pokemon unfortunate enough to stumble onto their land meets a swift doom.
In the World: Heralock, due to their violent nature, are a popular starter. In addition, many Botanists in dangerous parts of the world use them to protect their crops, spraying themselves with pheromones so the Heralock leave them alone.
Lifespan: Heralock live about 8 years without evolution.
Egg: Heralock eggs are a deep shade of blue and almost as hard as the carapace of the Pokemon. They are about a foot across and two feet tall. They usually weigh in around 20 pounds.
Breeding: Heralock rarely breed until they have evolved, although they are physically able to around Level 20. They won't breed with a Pokemon they deem weak, a point many trainers are angry about.
