Pebblix, #377A, The Pebble Snake
Typing: Rock / Ground
Height: 3'2" (ground to top of head)
Weight: 5,395.6 lbs.
Length: 7'2" (head to tail)
Width: 3'2"
Egg Group: Mineral
Diet: Pebblix is a Terravore. It devours minerals, mostly softer rocks that it can easily break up.
Characteristics: A Pebblix follows the same basic trend of an Onix; a chain of rocks held together by terrakinetic bonds. A Pebblix however, is comprised of many more rocks than its older cousin. While Onix is boulders, a Pebblix is comprised of, well, pebbles. It still retains the trademark horn, although at this stage it seems to be more of a strange growth. Their body is far softer than an Onix's, being almost as much dirt as pebbles. Due to this, they are far weaker than their older cousin. With so much energy devoted to keeping itself together it naturally has less to spend for combat. That being said, they are still a powerful Pokemon. The pebbles, while not as hard as the boulders of a Pokemon, do a great deal for absorbing blows. It is still able to dig, but the less than solid nature makes it difficult for them. Pebblix often lose pebbles over time, leaving a sort of trail, prompting them to pull new ones into their fold. As they become stronger the increasing amount of pebbles slowly merges into the great boulders of an Onix, completing the transformation.
Behavior: Pebblix are a proud, arrogant species, likely party due to their massive height. Even a low level Pebblix is able to tower above a giant of a Trainer when standing fully upright. They are highly territorial as well, more than willing to attack a Pokemon larger than themselves to protect what they see as theirs. Their pebbly makeup makes them even harder to make out than an Onix, creating additional problems when trying to fight one. Pebblix often transfer their loyalty to a Trainer instead of a place when in captivity. If treated well, a Pebblix becomes more than willing to lie down their own life for their Trainer's, making them a valued and powerful companion.
Habitat: Pebblix often live in deep tunnels, burrowing throughout the world.
Population: Pebblix are often solitary, only living with a parent. They are quite rare in all but the deepest reaches of a cave.
Relation with other Pokemon: Pebblix have little relations with other Pokemon besides smooshing those that are unfortunate enough to stumble upon one's lair.
In the World: Many cave-divers and archaeologists prize Pebblix. If raised from a Pebblix, many Onix lose some of the savage traits they are famous for, making them a valuable companion and useful in all aspects of their trade.
Lifespan: Theoretically a Pebblix could live forever, although many slowly die over time due to the various forms of erosion doing permanent damage that can only be patched up, not truly healed.
Egg: A Pebblix egg is massive, weighing in at almost 50 pounds. A Pebblix egg is about four feet tall and three across, making carrying them difficult. Breeders often have to set up a temporary base if they wish to breed Onix. Much like many Pokemon of the Mineral Egg Group, a Pebblix Egg, instead of being a true Egg, is a piece of living stone that slowly forms itself into the shape of a Pebblix, eventually unwinding and coming to life.
Breeding: Pebblix rarely go through the process of breeding although they are technically mature enough to mate at level 20. Unlike some Mineral Egg Group Pokemon, a Pebblix must actually go through the process of mating to start the process of the stone coming to life. The stone is actually a segment of the female's body, impregnated by the male to start off the process.
