Vipling, #518A, The Small Fang Snake Pokemon
Typing: Poison
Height: 4"
Weight: 42.6 lbs
Length: 4'8"
Width: 4"
Egg Group: Field / Dragon
Diet: Vipling are carnivores, using their venom to take down much larger prey. Vipling quickly flee from their foes after delivering poison, waiting for the venom to take them down.
Characteristics: Vipling are quite different looking than Seviper. While a Seviper is black with a few yellow scales, those yellow scales are all that a Vipling have. Fortunately, this gives them some camouflage in the dead grass where they roam. They still do possess purple scales around their beady eyes, the only differentiation between the dark scales. Their fangs are actually fairly short, barely coming out of their mouth. Their tail blade is similarly smaller, more of a tail dagger, truth be told. Vipling don't have as fine control over their venom as a Seviper, perpetuating the rumor that they are more venomous, when really a Vipling just can't keep venom out of their bite.
Behavior: Vipling are cowardly hunters, or as much as any hunter can be. While most will pursue their prey vehemently and take it to the ground, Vipling have a much simpler strategy. They get close, delivering a toxic bite. and promptly fleeing through the grass. Vipling don't have the same vicious disposition as a Seviper that will fight long past death against a Zangoose. Vipling have an inborn instinct to flee Zangoose as if their life depends on it, as it assuredly does. With a Trainer, a Vipling exhibits the same cowardice. It is hard to force a Vipling into a fight it has bad odds in, and attempt to flee battles.
Habitat: Vipling commonly live in more savannah-like areas where their yellow scales provide them camouflage.
Population: Vipling are uncommon, mostly due to the fact that Zangoose and Seviper tear each other apart on sight.
Relation with other Pokemon: Obviously, Vipling and Zangoose have their ongoing feud. Other than that, Vipling mostly focus on hunting.
In the World: Vipling are rarely used by Trainers. Their cowardly nature makes them useless in most fights, but anybody who raises one to a Seviper is in for a great reward.
Lifespan: Vipling can live for up to ten years.
Egg: Vipling are born from smooth, white eggs that are about one foot tall and eight inches across.
Breeding: Vipling are capable of breeding either at Level 20 or when they evolve, whichever comes first.
